UV Light Protection
A light that kills germs? It’s a crazy idea, but, it’s science and it works. It’s just a light, but the engineering behind it is amazing. It’s Ultraviolet Light. When turned on, the bulb produces an almost whimsical, neon-violet glow but what it’s actually DOING is astounding. But again, it’s a light, so why on earth would a Heating and Cooling company be interested in it, let alone promoting it? I’ll tell you, but let’s take a trip so I can better explain myself…
Grab your sandals and sunblock, we’re headed to your favorite water front! Not the beach, your other favorite one… the one with the water fall. You know that little shady spot where there’s enough caveats and crevices that water lingers in little pools without an outlet to refresh it? You know where I’m talking about; the area that moms know to keep the little ones away from because of the the nasty bacteria floating around in it. Well, we’re not going there either. We’re going that area sort of in between. The warm sun can shine down, but there’s just enough pools that the water gets caught and lingers. You can also find these areas around streams and ponds. The rocks there are beautiful. So colorful and the water looks really clean and fresh. Lean down and run your fingers along the surface of one of the rocks. Now pick it up. And just like that, the spell is broken. Nasty aint’t? YUP. And why? When you think about it, it makes perfect sense. The top of the rock is getting sunlight. The bottom however, NEVER SEES THE SUN. The sun with it’s incredible UV Light Protection. That light that we, as humans, have to tread carefully under so as not to be overly exposed to, is actually KILLING germs and bacteria. Which I might add, is a great benefit to line-drying clothes, killing the bacteria that the wash did not, but laundry is not my point. What is my point? Can you think of a few places in the home that NEVER see the sun? How about that cellar in your great grandma’s house? Dark, smelly and musty huh? But not everybody has one of those… I’m thinking of another place that just about every single american has in their home right now. Ding ding ding ding… YOUR AIR DUCTS. Although they located in a completely different part of house than a cellar would be, they are very similar. Dark and moist. They are especially moist if you don’t have a good de-humidifier in your system/home reducing that issue. Air ducts that are carrying lots and lots of bacteria. Sorry for the mental picture, but sadly, it’s very true. Your Air conditioning ducts get shocking amounts of bacteria and germ build-up that are then expelled into the air when the unit kicks into gear, each-and-every-single-day, multiple times a day. Suffering from allergies even while indoors? Getting sick multiple times throughout the year? I’m willing to bet you can place a big part of the blame on your own air ducts. Now, let me bring all of this full circle. Remember how the top part of our rock was incredibly perfect and gets to see the light of day? That’s the power of UV Light Protection. ENTER UV LIGHT PROTECTION FOR YOUR AIR DUCTS. Yes, that’s a thing, and yes, it TRULY works. You may have heard of the REME HALO before, or maybe not, but it’s worth looking into. UV light is just ONE of the features on this bad boy that not only works on purifying the air zooming thru those air ducts, but also on CLEANING the actual ducts! PLUS, professionally installed safely inside your unit, there is zero harm to you as a human. I really can’t imagine it getting much better than that.
Talk about unleashing the power of the sun on your HVAC system. You’d be a regular superhero.
YOUR WELCOME.
